ONCB arrested 2 foreign offenders with over 4 kg of cocaine in a joint operation under AAITF
On 19 December 2016 at 13.00 hrs., under the AAITF Operation, the ONCB Suvarnabhumi Airport Unit in collaboration with the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NBS), the Royal Thai Customs and the Armed Forces Security Center arrested a Columbian passenger; Mr. Orlando Martinez Lopez, aged 63 years. After the x-ray inspection, 4,275 grams of cocaine was found in Mr.Lopez’s shoulder bag and personal computer bag. The ONCB Suvarnabhumi Airport Unit seized the drugs and extended further investigation. Then, on 20 December 2016 at 11.30 hrs., Mr. Pual Beales, a British, aged 44 years was arrested at a hotel room in a business area in Bangkok when he was picking up the drugs from Mr. Lopez After searching Mr. Beales room in his condominium in Bangkok, officers found 7 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of dried cannabis and 18 grams of cannabis resin in the closet in his bedroom. Furthermore, the officers also found 10,600 US dollars and 4,600 AU dollars in cash which valued about 500,000 Thai baht in his luggage in the bedroom, along with a number of equipments for drug use and sell. All evidences and offenders were taken for further legal procedure.
