AAITF Thailand Team arrested the West African Syndicate with drug bound for New Zealand
On 28 July 2018, the AAITF Thailand Team arrested Mr. Weng San Paul Cordeiro, a Mozambican citizen with 2,000 grammes of Ice and Mr. Ernesto Daniel Jernigan, an American citizen. This was according to the intelligence and investigation, the Team was informed that a target who is an American citizen, working for the West African Syndicate, planned to traffic illicit drug to New Zealand by air as he booked a flight from Bangkok to New Zealand on 28 July 2018 at 18.30 hrs.
On 26 July 2018, the AAITF Thailand Team carried out an operation in a hotel in Sukhumvit area where a target was found by observing a room of the target until a West African guy came to the target's room and gave him a black luggage with drug hidden in a secret compartment inside the luggage. Later the Team found that he is Mr. Weng San Paul Cordeiro, a Mozambican citizen who possessed 2,000 grammes of Ice in a luggage that gave to Mr. Ernesto Daniel Jernigan. The Team, then, on 28 July 2018, arrested him together with Mr. Ernesto Daniel Jernigan, an American citizen who tried to fled away. They were brought to ONCB Suvarnabhumi Airport Unit for interrogation and record before further sending them to Police Narcotics Suppression Bureau.
