AAITF- Lao PDR Seized 23.45 Kgs. of Ice

              On 18 May 2019, AAITF-Lao PDR, Immigration Office at Wattay International Airport, Vientiane, arrested a Malaysian national, aged 46 years, Mr. Joshua Gopal with 23.84 kilgrammes of Ice hidden in his luggage. He was going to Kuala Lumpur via Wattay International Airport by Air Asia. After the arrest, the AAITF- Lao PDR coordinated with AAITF-Thailand for further investigation and AAITF- Thailand further informed the relevant information relating to the offender to AAITF-Malaysian and Malaysian authorities for further expansion of the case and investigation.

The ASEAN Narcotics Cooperation Centre (ASEAN-NARCO) was officially launched in Bangkok this week to further drive regional efforts in pursuing ASEAN Drug Free 2015. To act as a coordinating platform for ASEAN Member States in working together on drug related cases, ASEAN NARCO is now focusing on drug law enforcement and expected to cover other areas of drug control in the future.
