THE 10th THAILAND-VIETNAM BILATERAL MEETING ON DRUG CONTROL COOPERATION
The 10th Thailand - Viet Nam Bilateral Meeting on Drug Control Cooperation was organized by the Office of the Narcotics Control Board in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand during 29-30 March 2016. Mr. Narong Rattananugul, Secretary - General of the Narcotics Control Board of Thailand and Head of Thai Delegation chaired the meeting. Pol.Lt.Gen. Do Kim Tuyen, led the Vietnamese Delegation and co-chaired the meeting. Both countries shared drug situation and drug control efforts in their own countries, and in-depth information on drug trafficking. The meeting agreed that in 2016 Thailand will receive two Vietnamese delegations for a study visit on caffeine and precursor control and on drug identification/analysis, and Viet Nam will receive two Thai delegations for study visits on seaport/airport interdiction and drug prevention and rehabilitation in community in Viet Nam. Moreover, Thailand proposed to organize the 4th Seminar on Joint Drug Suppression Operation among Thailand, Viet Nam, and Laos along the East-West Economic Corridor in May 2016. Cambodia would be invited to the seminar as an observer. Furthermore, Thailand gave 3,000 packages of test kits for Viet Nam to respond to its urgent need.
