Minister of Justice of Thailand presided over the Signing Ceremony of Protocol on Cooperation between Yunnan Provincial Narcotics Control Committee and Narcotics Control Office Region 5

               On Monday 1 June 2016 at 09:30 hrs at Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Mai, H.E. General Paiboon Koomchaya, Minister of Justice of Thailand, together with Mr. Dong Jialu, Executive Deputy DG of Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department (YPPSD), co-chaired and witnessed the Signing Ceremony of Protocol on Cooperation in narcotics control between Yunnan Provincial Narcotics Control Committee (YPNCC), the People’s Republic of China, and Narcotics Control Office Region 5, Kingdom of Thailand. The purpose of the Protocol is to strengthen cooperation on narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursor chemical control in the Greater Mekong Sub-region.

ASEAN-NARCO

The ASEAN Narcotics Cooperation Centre (ASEAN-NARCO) was officially launched in Bangkok this week to further drive regional efforts in pursuing ASEAN Drug Free 2015. To act as a coordinating platform for ASEAN Member States in working together on drug related cases, ASEAN NARCO is now focusing on drug law enforcement and expected to cover other areas of drug control in the future.
