NACD enhanced their law enforcement capacity with Thailand’s support

                  The NACD, with the financial and technical support from Thailand ONCB, conducted Training Courses for Law Enforcement Officers in Pailin Province during 22-23 September 2016 and Stung Treng during 26-27 September 2016. The trainings, also participated and shared knowledge and experiences by law enforcement officers from ONCB Region 2 and 3, were to develop the capacity of law enforcement officers working in BLOs along Thailand and Cambodia border and enhance their cooperation with Thailand authorities to counter with illicit drug traffic. The 2 activities are parts of Thailand’s support for Cambodia narcotics control under the Letter of Agreement between Thailand and Cambodia which provides wide range of supports including the provision of vehicles for various law enforcement agencies and Gas Chromatography - GC equipment for NACD Laboratory.

ASEAN-NARCO

The ASEAN Narcotics Cooperation Centre (ASEAN-NARCO) was officially launched in Bangkok this week to further drive regional efforts in pursuing ASEAN Drug Free 2015. To act as a coordinating platform for ASEAN Member States in working together on drug related cases, ASEAN NARCO is now focusing on drug law enforcement and expected to cover other areas of drug control in the future.
